At the School of Health, Care and Social Welfare our students are studying to be for example behavioural scientists, public health scientists, physiotherapists, nurses, social workers and specialist nurses. Here we have the research specialisation of Health and Welfare. Our work takes place in cooperation with and in strategic agreements with county councils, municipalities and companies in the region.

Position description
We are looking for two post docs to join the School of Health, Care and Social Welfare. The research specialization Health and Welfare is characterized as interdisciplinary with a focus on societal and health challenges. A large part of the research is conducted in collaboration with other research specializations at MDH, but also regionally, nationally and internationally. The position is 80% research and 20% teaching for two years. Teaching will be in an area that matches the candidate’s expertise and/or previous teaching. The candidates’ research profile should be related to Health and Welfare and the following focus areas are prioritized:
• Sustainable working life, lifestyle and health
• Health and Welfare Technology from a User Perspective
• Health and welfare for people in exposed and vulnerable life situations
The candidates will belong to a research group and department that is most suitable to his/her background and current research. The candidate could join an ongoing project and/or bring his/her own project/data. The candidates previous and ongoing research should be described in the application as well as a research plan for the coming 2 years and how previous experiences matches the prioritized focus areas at the school. Also, previous teaching experiences should be described. The two most qualified candidates will be offered a position.
The position includes conducting independent research, writing scientific papers and grant proposals. The candidate is expected to participate in research meetings and seminars and to network within ongoing collaborations with other research specializations at MDH, in the region, nationally and internationally or to establish new collaborations.

Qualifications requirements
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in Caring Science, Health Care Education, Medicine, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Public Health Sciences, Social Work, Sociology and/or Work Science or related topics .
The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period. The candidate is expected to be well-organized, thorough, work independently and be able to interact with others.

Merit
Qualifications that are considered to be a merit are documented experience of research on one or several of the focus areas Sustainable working life, lifestyle and health; Health and welfare technology from a user perspective; and Health and welfare for people in exposed and vulnerable life situations. Extensive experience of analyzing data using qualitative and/or quantitative methods, attracting external funding, and international research network and/or exchanges are merits. Also, excellent skills in English, both in writing and orally, are merits as well as previous experience of teaching.
