2022 Summer Internship - Internal Audit Intern

Interning at Nasdaq
The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with an outstanding opportunity to experience a relevant and immersive 10 week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning development opportunities and meet with senior leaders. This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August 2022.
The Team
Internal Audit is an independent and objective assessor of risks and controls. Through our assessments we strive to help the business to work towards their goals. The team is authorized to review all company processes including governance, compliance, finance, accounting, technology, and business operations.
Your Role
As an Internal Audit intern, you will be part of the teams planning and execution of audits covering various aspects of exchange and clearing operations. You will be partnering with an internal audit colleague and get introduced to the thought process of evaluating processes for control design and controls efficiency. You will be part of compiling the audit fieldwork using various tools for data gathering and analytics, and finally in writing the audit report. In doing so a typical day includes:
Gathering information through data sources and interviews
Documenting interviews and data
Determine testing sample by applying statistical sampling to the data population
Apply analytics to the sample and investigate output
Documentation of work
Writing up findings and recommendations
Who we are looking for:
Passionate individual looking to start their career in audit and analytics
Completing a Masters degree in Finance, Data Science, Business and Economics or related field with an anticipated graduation date after December 2023 until summer of 2024
A self-starter with evidence of analytical skills
Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Keen interest and ability to learn various software tools
A great teammate and exhibits intellectual curiosity
Sample Projects:
Process mapping into analytical workflows, pulling data from various data sources, and present analytical results in a dashboard style.
