2022 Summer Internship - Risk Development Intern

Interning at Nasdaq
The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with an outstanding opportunity to experience a relevant and immersive 10-week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning development opportunities and meet with senior leaders. This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August 2022.
The Team
The European Market Systems Technology Team is the software engineering team supporting our trading and post-trade solutions used by our Nasdaq exchanges as well as our clearinghouse in the Nordics. The team consists of a mix of skilled and driven problem-solvers from all over the world.
Your Role
This is a great opportunity to grow as a developer! You will expand your knowledge and understanding of the exchange business setup while taking part in and supporting test activities together with our Nasdaq clearing team. Our professionals are integrally involved in meeting our challenge to develop robust, high-quality clearing and risk software, with ever-increasing performance requirements and simultaneously contributing to improving agility. Your day-to-day tasks include:
Developing new enhancements or defect corrections to be delivered
Write unit test cases, report defects, and discuss complicated requirements and their outcome with business analysts and other developers in the team
Who we are looking for:
Passionate individual looking to start their career in technology
Completing a Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field with an anticipated graduation date after December 2022 until summer of 2023
Genuine interest or experience in finance and software development
Experience in Software Development in Java
Experience with GIT, Unix/Linux, and Jira
What would be helpful:
A self-starter with evidence of intellectual curiosity
A critical thinker who exhibits entrepreneurism and problem-solving abilities
Energized by a heavy workload and tight deadlines
Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Sample Projects:
You will take part in the Risk Management EUD replacement program.
