Interning at Nasdaq


The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with an outstanding opportunity to experience a relevant and immersive 10 week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning development opportunities and meet with senior leaders. This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August 2022.


The Team


The Risk Strategy, Resilience and Ethics function is a new team formed under the Nasdaq Global Chief Risk Officer to define Nasdaq Inc. risk strategy in support of the business strategy, enhance operational resilience practices across all business lines and manage the firms Ethics program. The summer intern role will support the Operational Resilience program and Risk Strategy related initiatives.


Your Role


The summer intern role will support the Operational Resilience program and Risk Strategy related initiatives. This will include research and analysis of topical and emerging risks with potential to impact the Nasdaq business, supporting the development of thought pieces and reports, and supporting the operational resilience enhancements as part of a broad, multi-disciplinary working group. The work of our team covers all aspects of Nasdaq's business.


Who we are looking for:


Passionate individual looking to start their career in Risk


Completing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with an anticipated graduation date after December 2023 until summer of 2024


Has strong interest and understanding of operations, risk, business and finance.


Has the ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and self-directed learning, including researching


Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and innovative problem-solving and evaluative skills, and an ability to conduct independent research and analysis, identify issues, formulate options, and make conclusions


Has strong organizational, interpersonal and presentation skill


What would be helpful:


A self-starter with evidence of intellectual curiosity


A critical thinker who exhibits entrepreneurism and problem solving abilities


Energized by a heavy workload and tight deadlines


Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally


Sample Project:


Support the Operational Resilience Program and Head of Risk Strategy on specific Nasdaq strategic initiatives.
