2022 Summer Internship - Software Development Intern

Interning at Nasdaq
The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with an outstanding opportunity to experience a relevant and immersive 10 week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning development opportunities and meet with senior leaders. This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August 2022.
The Team
Nasdaq provides software technology for capital markets all over the world. The NCCP team develops clearing, settlement and collateral management products in our post trade offering for new customers as well as supports our existing customers with troubleshooting and feature enhancements. We are a team of developers, testers, and business analysts with a mix of newly graduates to over 25 years in the company, all dedicated to give the customer the best software and experience.
Your Role
As a summer intern in our team, you will be part of a scrum team to learn more about the product and also what we work with towards the customers. You will also have close contact with the other summer interns in the department. Your tasks would be one or more of:
Development and/or refactoring of our automated test cases and framework
Unit test for one or more of our business applications (e.g., settlement, clearing)
Bug corrections and/or refactoring of potential issues found during unit test
Who we are looking for:
Passionate individual looking to start their career in technology
Completing a Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field with an anticipated graduation date after December 2022 to summer of 2023
Good knowledge in Java
Knowledge in software development tools like Git and unit test framework
What would be helpful:
Genuine interest about financial market
A self-starter with evidence of intellectual curiosity
A critical thinker who exhibits problem solving abilities
Sample Projects:
As a summer intern at NCCP Market Technology you will help us improve the quality of our software by both implementing and improving the automated function test we have and develop unit test cases to increase code coverage. If/when refactoring of the code is suitable you will also be able to do that to make the code more robust and maintainable.
