2022 Summer Internship - Software Development Intern (Data Platform)

Interning at Nasdaq
The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with an outstanding opportunity to experience a relevant and immersive 10-week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning development opportunities and meet with senior leaders. This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August 2022.
The Team
The NFF Data services team is a combination of 3 team. NFF Pods, Data Platform and Data Platform Delivery. The NFF Pods team is a cross pod team that supports and develops the S&W and RDM Pods. In addition to that we also support and develop the CDB and DS databases. Data platform is responsible for building a runnable data platform product. Data platform delivery team is responsible for the customer deliveries of NDAF and the new data platform.
Your Role
You will take part in:
Designing solutions and writing good code that solves problems in a highly distributed system with substantial demands on resilience and quality
Employ best practices to ensure high availability and performance
Build and tune the products for both on-prem and cloud deployment
Can be involved in all stages of the product life cycle, design, implementation, testing, release, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, customer support, maintenance, and enhancement.
Who we are looking for:
Passionate individual looking to start their career in technology
Completing a Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field with an anticipated graduation date after December 2022 until summer of 2023
Solid interest and relevant education within software development
Interest in working with Java or similar technology
Interest in distributed systems/big data/cloud computing and adjacent fields
What would be helpful:
A self-starter with evidence of intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn and take on challenges
A critical thinker who exhibits entrepreneurism and problem-solving abilities
Energized by a heavy workload and tight deadlines
Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Sample Projects:
Delivering software to Nasdaqs customers.
