2022 Summer Internship - Software Engineering Intern

Interning at Nasdaq
The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with an outstanding opportunity to experience a relevant and immersive 10-week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning development opportunities and meet with senior leaders. This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August 2022.
The Team
The Multi Matching Engine (MME) teams are building the next generation Trading platform with the vision to be the most used trading platform in the world. Built upon the Nasdaq Financial Framework (NFF), the platform features amongthe lowest latency and highest performance in the industry.It operates ina proven, resilient infrastructure featuring a high degree of system uptime, availability, and seamless failover built to withstand the most intense market conditions. You will join a team with very senior engineers responsible for designing, developing, and testing the platform core services.
Your Role
As a Software Engineering intern, you will be part of the team's daily work to design, build and test our platform. You will also run your own project reporting to Vice President of the Trading organization. The scope of the project will be decided by the team to create as much value for us as an organization but also for our external clients.
Who we are looking for:
Passionate individual looking to start their career in technology
Completing a Bachelor Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with an anticipated graduation date after December 2022 until summer of 2023
Experience with Java SE, API, and related frameworks
Experience working with GIT
Experience working with Linux and databases
It would be good to have some scripting skills in Shell or Python
What would be helpful:
A self-starter with evidence of intellectual curiosity
A critical thinker who exhibits entrepreneurism and problem-solving abilities
Energized by a heavy workload and tight deadlines
Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
