Interning at Nasdaq
The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with an outstanding opportunity to experience a relevant and immersive 10 week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning development opportunities and meet with senior leaders. This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August 2022.
The Team

Nasdaq Market Technology represents one of four business units within Nasdaq, having the broadest footprint geographically. The Market Infrastructure Technology Group sits within the business, serving over 130 market venues (exchanges, clearing houses, securities depositories and regulators) and a range of innovative and disruptive non-financial sector marketplaces, spanning real-estate, healthcare, advertising and sports betting to name a few. We also offer marketplace related advisory globally. We are at an exciting phase of development -nurturing our mature business whilst looking to expand our footprint with strategic partnerships and alliances.
Your Role
As an intern within our group, you will have an exciting opportunity to shape and impact the execution of our 5 year strategy. Roles and activities are likely to include:
Research and identification of relevant industry players and shortlist of targets for partnerships or alliances
Business case development for strategic initiatives
Nurturing existing partnerships and developing and/or refreshing GTM plans
Interact with strategy, product management and sales to test validity of assumptions and work with team around go to market plans.
Potential to support an ongoing or new Advisory Services project.
Who we are looking for:
Passionate individual looking to start their career in Market Technology
Completing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Information Technology or related field with an anticipated graduation date after December 2022 until summer of 2023
Has business/commerce qualification (or working towards qualification) and/or strong interest in corporate strategy and potentially deal structuring
Has qualification or good general knowledge of IT and technology (including new technologies), whilst also having a business-minded approach
Has interest in Fintech
Enthusiastic and keen to build a network within the Nasdaq group
What would be helpful:
A self-starter with evidence of intellectual curiosity
A critical thinker who exhibits entrepreneurism and problem solving abilities
Energized by a heavy workload and tight deadlines
Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Sample Project:
Inorganic growth initiative: identify, shortlist and screening of potential partnership or alliance candidates.
SaaS Transition: working across functional teams to support transition strategy of our Tier 2 and Tier 3 customer base
Business and investment case formulation: for selective strategic initiatives.
Advisory Services Project: work with the Nasdaq management consulting team on a market infrastructure project (i.e. for a top securities exchange or non-financial industry early-stage disrupter.
Engagement with MIT Tier 1 customers to deliver an enhanced/bespoke customer experience.
