No 1: Restoration ecology, reference number 313-208-10 No 2: Ecological effects of ice dynamics in streams, reference number 313-209-10 No 3: Effects of stream restoration and climate change on riparian plants, reference number 313-210-10 See complete ad: www.jobb.umu.se These three positions will be placed at the Landscape Ecology Group at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science (EMG).The PhD students will work in an environment consisting of several other PhD students and senior scientists focussing on restoration ecology.The department has about 170 employees.For more information, see the department's webpage: www.emg.umu.se.General information: The recruitment procedure will follow the Higher Education Ordinance (Högskoleförordningen chapters 5 and 7).Prerequisites include 240 ECTS credits of higher education studies of which 60 should be on an advanced level (Master level).Education should include a 30 ECTS credits independent project in an area relevant for the respective project.Documented experience in community ecology, landscape ecology, ecological field methods, GIS and statistics are meriting.The successful applicant should have good ability to write and speak in English, creativity, power of initiative, independence and ability to collaborate.A driving license is required.Evaluations will be based on results on university courses, quality of master's thesis, references, interviews and the letter of intent.The application should include a letter of interest in research and in the current project (1 page), CV, copy of the MSc thesis and of any publications.Updated contact information for three reference persons is also required.The procedure for recruitment for the positions is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance (chapt.12, 2 ) and the decisions regarding the positions cannot be appealed.Documents sent electronically should be in MS Word or PDF format.We look forward to receiving your application!
