What to expect
The project engineer is responsible for leading cross functional work (design, analysis, manufacturing, validation, purchasing and suppliers) and delivering all engineering design, verification and launch activities.
E.g, understanding and interpreting the category requirements for vehicles in L7e, heavy quadri-mobile for utility purposes,
and L6e, moped class 1.
Delivering on a plan with clear direction and demonstrating a clear appreciation of attributes and program deliverables on quality, cost, weight, and function are critical aspects of the design and release project engineer role.
What you´ll be responsible
Interpret the category requirements for vehicles in L7e, heavy quadri-mobile for utility purposes, and N1 for light vehicle trucks.
Responsible for articles from concept to serial articles.
Find and select suppliers along with purchasing.
Drive suppliers in the development work and quality-assured articles, e.g, environment, durability
Develop a complete architecture together with the team.
Draw up timetables for the respective areas
Manage requirement specifications and product development processes, and deliver according to component creation and delivery system on engine systems and components.
Lead cross-functional team including purchasing, design, validation, STA, supplier and manufacturing to ensure all APQP deliverables are fulfilled with agreed status by the team.
Delivery to the program gateways by achieving quality, cost, timing, function and weight requirements.
What you´ll need and what you will do
Position 1 : Project engineer Electrical
Broad Experience in electrical architecture for vehicles at least 3-5 years
Experience with CAN communication, responsibility for the vehicle's CAN protocol
Responsible for all electrical components in the vehicle, everything from the Motor control unit to switches.
Build the architecture for the electrical system, hardware-wise and software-wise
Position 2 : Project engineer Chassis
Broad Experience with chassis such as wheel suspension, steering, brakes,
Knowledge of chassis geometry
Experience of sheet metal design
Position 3 : Project engineer Body
Broad knowledge in bodywork development, at least 3-5 years
Design of a complete body with associated body structure.
Experience working with articles made of plastic and sheet metal in interior and exterior environments.
Knowledge about ergonomics and the criteria in cockpit.
Position 4 : Design engineer Electrical
Broad Experience in electrical architecture for vehicles at least 3-5 years
Responsible for design/integration of all electrical components in the vehicle.
Together with PE you will build the architecture for the electrical system.
Experience in CAD program NX is meritorious.
Position 5 : Design engineer Chassis
Broad Experience with designing chassis such as wheel suspension, steering, brakes,
Knowledge of chassis geometry
Experience of sheet metal design
Experience in CAD program NX is meritorious
Position 6 : Design engineer Body
Knowledge in body design, exterior and interior.
Together with PE you will design a complete body with associated body structure.
Experience working with articles made of plastic and sheet metal in interior and exterior environments. Knowledge about ergonomics and the criteria in cockpit is advantageous.
Experience in CAD program NX is meritorious.
Essential:
Technical engineering background in automotive
Understanding of design and validation principles of systems and components.
Ability to discuss and report out component/system design and delivery status
Ability to act in any environment and be resourceful and resilient to the changing demands of the business
Ability to demonstrate leadership in technical and organizational problem resolution
Experience to lead development together with suppliers and achieve good quality output.
Experience working with FMEA.
Desirable:
Release experience within OEM or supply base.
Experience of delivering engineering solutions from concept to product launch (outside of Automotive considered), including solutions to current engineering and quality issues.
Degree in mechanical, electro-mechanical or automotive engineering preferred, or official engineering qualification.
