Arbetsbeskrivning
Paradox Development Studio Red is looking for a talented Mid-level, 3D Character Artist to join our art team in Stockholm, working mainly on producing character assets for our in-house titles.
We are looking for Character artists with a broad skillset who could take on a variety of 3D character creation tasks, primarily focusing on realistic characters, with a high degree of historical accuracy in clothing and associated props.
About the role
At PDS Red we believe in freedom, trust, and accountability. Together with the Art Director and other department heads, you will drive the character art vision for the game. You will also be given ownership of technical and visual targets/benchmarks for the team/external partners to follow, as well as documenting the techniques you use with visual examples.
Your daily tasks will focus on creating characters, clothing, hairstyles and character props needed by the game projects, and making sure we follow the pipelines set out by you and the Tech Artist.
We place great importance on communication and collaboration, and we want you to be an effective and proactive team member. We host regular cross-team peer review meetings, where all are invited to give feedback in a positive manner.
Required Qualifications
2-4 years of character creation experience working in the games industry.
Good working knowledge in Zbrush, Marvelous Designer and Substance Painter.
Strong skills in Maya/Max and Photoshop.
Knowledge of skinning, rigging, technical constraints and engine implementation.
Comfortable using English in spoken and written form.
An interest and understanding of world culture and history
The right candidate is passionate about Paradox grand-strategy games and about maintaining historical accuracy, which is central to many of our IPs. We take pride in providing opportunities for our artists to develop and learn new skills. Therefore we also actively look for people who are interested in expanding their talents. We enjoy working in a fast paced open work environment, and value good communication and pedagogical skills.
You might be asked to perform a Art test during the recruitment process.
