The messaging and presence applications team (Lund - Sweden) are responsible for the development of a number of key applications on Sony Ericsson's mobile phones. Examples are SMS, MMS, Email, instant messaging and Presence Rendering in external applications. The development encompasses both the user interface as well as the implementation of the underlying enabling protocols. Messaging applications are frequently used applications and thoroughly scrutinized by its users. The demand for a good user interface is a prerequisite. The protocols consist of both old well-developed protocols and new fresh with a high degree of interoperability challenges. Description of duties: The SW Sub-Project Manager is involved in all the development phases (requirement, analysis, design, implementation, test and maintenance) in the development cycle of new features and has the following major areas of responsibilities: . Planning . Execution . Inform the project team about project activities and status . Report status and progress to the main project and the line organisation Qualifications: . A degree in engineering or computer science . Experienced C developer (3 + years) . Good communication skills . A good team player . Preferably experience of one or several of the following protocols/technologies: TCP/IP, GPRS, HTTP, WAP, SIP, Wireless Village . Good understanding of usability and high demands on it .
