DIS is seeking an Academic Assistant in Stockholm. In this role, you will assist with a wide range of academic administrative tasks. The successful candidate will work directly with staff and faculty on a daily basis, with occasional student-facing tasks. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and you adapt well to change, this is an opportunity for you to gain experience in an academic study abroad setting and to expand your general office and collaborative skills.
This position is open only to DIS alumni who have completed their undergraduate degree or higher. It is important that you bring your student perspective from the DIS program. The Academic Administration at DIS Stockholm consists of 4 people: the DIS Associate Academic Director, two Academic Coordinators, and the Academic Assistant. This team works to make each semester run as smoothly as possible by providing academic support and streamlining processes in collaboration with DIS faculty and other DIS staff. The new colleague in our team will have special affiliation with fields of relevance based on your educational background and interests. Your knowledge will be strengthened through work and talks with DIS faculty, and you will gain essential experience which can guide you in your future career decisions.

Tasks & Responsibilities
Assist in logistical and administrative planning for the academic semester such as scheduling meetings, preparing relevant materials, obtaining supplies, proctoring exams, and communicating with internal and external relevant staff/contacts
Order/prepare textbooks and course materials for faculty
Organize and maintain DIS library, including textbook pick-up/drop-off for students
Serve as a point of contact and support for faculty and staff in-person and via email
Take ownership in planning and executing events, workshops, and seminars across DIS
Co-lead DIS study tours, providing logistical support for the faculty and students
Assist with faculty development seminars and work with the DIS Faculty and staff
Proofread and check Canvas syllabi and field study information before each term
Plan, assist and support arrival/academic orientation for semester and summer terms
Assist in planning and staffing the end-of-semester Festival
Document academic events, including photos and text, and create social media posts
