Academic Coordinator 

IES Huddinge 2022

We are now seeking a driven and goal-orientated Academic Coordinator to join our leadership team full time in August 2022!

About the role and this vacancy:

As an Academic Coordinator you will work closely with the Assistant Principals and be part of a Management Team in analysing results, coordinating all aspects of the school’s activities and together developing the school for continuing success. 

The Academic Coordinator leads the school Special Education Team. In cooperation with the Assistant Principal Student Care you will organise and develop the adaptations and support plans for all students in need together with the team and all teachers, as well as implement behaviour and welfare systems in the school, enabling teachers to teach and students to learn.

In cooperation with the school’s Assistant Principal Academics you will organise the Academic work within the school, working closely with Heads of Departments. 

You will lead the Study and Career Advisor (SYV) in creating conditions for students to get to know themselves through conversations about their interests, abilities, studies and internships and support staff when it comes to study and career guidance initiatives regarding the entire school's responsibilities.

You will follow up attendance and organise and coordinate PRAO as well as Lovskola for our students. 

Who are you?

The ideal candidate has teaching qualifications, a proven track record in organising and coordinating Academic procedures as Åtgärdsprogram, PRAO, Lovskola, etc., along with leadership experience or middle management.

The ability to communicate in both Swedish and English is of high importance. 

A strong knowledge of state and municipal policy documents including the Swedish School Law and the Swedish curriculum (LGR11/LGR22) is also an important merit.

As you will have a large role in the school’s Systematic Quality Work, you should have a genuine interest in educational development.

As a member of the school’s Management Team you must also be a proven leader with great competence in recruiting, supporting and developing staff within the school. 

You should be a firm believer that clarity in leadership, discipline, and a high degree of structure provide the basic conditions for focusing on education and achieving outstanding results.

You also need to be a flexible team player dealing with tasks that are challenging but at the same time rewarding. 

About IES Huddinge:

IES Huddinge is strengthening its Management Team. We have high expectations and high standards. We are located in Huddinge, a short walking distance from Flemingsberg train station and only 15 minutes from Stockholm C.

The school opened in 2013 and has 630 students in grades 6-9 and 60 staff. The school has high results, a safe environment and many students in cue wanting to start here.
