- This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to join the leadership team at IES Solna as its Academic Manager IES Solna is a new school, opening in August 2021, and we are looking for an innovative, adaptable and student-focused individual who can help to establish, build and lead in a potentially excellent new school within an established and growing educational provider. As an Academic Manager you will work closely with the Principal and be part of a leadership team tasked with securing the highest quality of education for our students. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about the IES ethos and believes that every child can exceed their potential, no matter what the circumstances. Responsibilities include
- Effectively manage and organize the academics within the school (under the Principal), including curriculum planning and implementation of academic policies and routines
- Secure high-quality teaching, learning and assessment - effective teacher development
- Support staff and students to meet the highest academic expectations
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the Heads of Department and Teachers
- Support the Principal with the school’s systematic quality work
- Support the Principal and IES Head Office with other academic initiatives/projects
- Required Competencies Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the IES vision, ethos and values
- Curriculum knowledge
- Strong pedagogical knowledge in relation to teaching, learning and formative assessment
- Understanding of “Skollagen” in relation to teaching and assessment
- Skills
- Experience and excellence as a teaching practitioner
- Qualified teacher from either abroad or Sweden. If from abroad – university teaching education. If from Sweden – “Lärarlegitimation”
- Leadership and management skills
- Process management skills relevant to the systems in use across the school including IT
- Swedish language
- Behaviours
- Highest academic expectations for the staff and students
- Good communicator and relationship builder, parents, students and staff

- Desired Qualifications/Experience
- Several years teaching experience with proven results, preferably within an IES school
- Head of Department experience
- Experience of working well with others or as part of a team
- Excellent reference from current Principal as prerequisite
