We know it's not something we can solve overnight. We have to make extraordinary leaps in technology happen.

The role
We are now looking for an accountant to strengthen our Commercial, Finance and Legal team. The team’s mission is to ensure solid finances and a strong strategy. The whole purpose of our job is to help other teams within Kognic by ensuring we are ready for the next steps, from a legal, commercial, and financial point of view.

As we grow, we now plan to bring our accounting function in-house. As our accountant your responsibility is to support the team with the day-to-day activities of accounting as well as make sure we have a smooth payroll process and run the salaries from adjustments to payout. Your tasks include among other things:

- Customer and supplier ledgers
- Expense and expenditure management
- VAT and tax reporting
- Payroll management
- Financial statements and annual reports


You will be our go-to person when it comes to salary and bookkeeping, and also be our superuser in our systems, Pleo, Fortnox and AlexisHR, handling our financial and payroll information. We believe that with your competencies you will be able to improve our workflow.

As you create this function internally you will work closely with our external partners that are handling our financials as of today. When it comes to questions regarding expenses, pension, parental pay, allowance, vacation, salary exchange and so on, you will team up with both the team from ‘People & Culture’ and ‘Commercial’. Beside these teams you will also work closely with our controller, that we also are hiring for at the moment, on for e.g., budget related matters. As mentioned above, you will be responsible for VAT and tax reporting, which means that you also will handle our communication with the tax authorities and other similar authorities.

Who are you?
We believe that you have at least a couple of years of experience as an accountant or in a similar role, and are able to work independently, since you will be the only accountant on site. You are confident, thorough, systematic and enjoy improving current routines to streamline the financial workflow. We want you to have experience of:

- Relevant education in economics
- Complete process of Swedish payroll
- Good knowledge of K2 and/or K3 regulations
- Fluent in English, but preferably in Swedish as well
- Cloud based accounting, such as Fortnox or similar systems


If you have experience of working in a scale-up with 100-500 employees, worked with salaries in other countries (e.g., Germany or US) or have previously improved and set best practice for financial processes, this is a big plus!
