We are now looking for an accountant to strengthen our Commercial, Finance and Legal team. The team’s mission is to ensure solid finances and a strong strategy. The whole purpose of our job is to help other teams within Kognic by ensuring we are ready for the next steps, from a legal, commercial and financial point of view.

Your role
As we grow we now plan to bring our accounting function in-house. As an accountant your responsibility is to support the team with the day-to-day activities of accounting as well as make sure we have a smooth payroll process and run the salaries from adjustments to payout. Your tasks includes among other things:
- Customer and supplier ledgers
- Expense and expenditure management
- VAT and tax reporting
- Payroll management
- Financial statements and annual reports
You play an important role since you are the one in charge of both the salary and bookkeeping processes and you will also become a superuser in our systems handling financial and payroll information such as Pleo, Fortnox and Alexis. You will ensure correct exports/imports from our different systems and we believe that you bring great value to the team by supporting how we can improve our workflows.
You will work closely with our external partners handling our accounting when building up this function internally. You will also have close contact with your colleagues within Commercial as well as the People & Culture team and answer questions regarding expenses, pension, parental pay, allowance, vacation, salary exchange, and more. In the role it is also included to handle communication with the tax authorities and other authorities.
Who are you?
To succeed and thrive in this position we believe you are thorough, systematic and enjoy improving current routines in order to streamline the financial workflow. You are confident in your accounting skills and can support your colleagues with your experience.
You have:
- Previous work experience as an accountant, accounting consultant or similar and can work independently with both payroll and bookkeeping
- Experience handling Swedish payroll
- Good knowledge within the K2 and K3 regulations
- Relevant education in economics
- Fluent in both written and spoken Swedish as well as English
- Good computer skills and experience with cloud-based accounting, preferably Fortnox
We consider it a plus if you have:
- Worked in a scale-up with 100-500 employees
- Worked with salaries in other countries, for example Germany or US
- Have experience of improving or setting up financial processes
