As an Accounting Professional, the consultant will be involved in managing fixed assets accounting and assisting in meeting the goals of the Accounting R2R department. Working closely with a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider will be a crucial responsibility, along with ensuring smooth operations and streamlining processes. We are seeking a consultant who can embrace this change, bring their expertise and enthusiasm to ensure a smooth transition and successful transformation.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

In the role of a Fixed Assets Accounting Specialist, you will support all or specific companies within the client group in handling intricate accounting issues concerning fixed assets. Additionally, you will be responsible for:

• Establish rules for how assets should be organized (such as by components or specific business structures) and how parameters should be used in the SAP asset register (like location information, cost center details, etc.)
• Evaluate the fixed asset accounting standards of IFRS and local GAAP to ensure that new investment projects are classified and valued correctly.
• Utilize IFRS, local GAAP, and tax regulations for accurate categorization of expenses related to investment projects based on client specifications, including establishing asset structures.
• Facilitate the transfer of information from the client to BPO provider to manage SAP modifications.
• Assist with system closing tasks, conduct audits and validations, and ensure compliance with deadlines.
• Assist with identifying and recording asset impairments on asset master record level.
• Provide data for financial or annual reports of all legal entities.
• Serve as a fixed assets accounting specialist for IFRS and at least one local GAAP, supporting the tax team in the designated country.
• Assist Group Accounting in adopting new accounting standards (IFRS) and work closely with Accounting teams in various countries to ensure consistent application of IFRS.
• Stay updated on and apply any changes in local accounting standards in the relevant country.
• Foster positive relationships and provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and BPO provider.
• Carry out services efficiently and effectively, adhering to established procedures and standards.
• Offer suggestions for enhancing processes to experts in the field.
• Contribute to development initiatives within the department or across different teams within the organization.

Requirements

• A university degree in a relevant field such as Business or Accounting, or equivalent training or work experience.
• Previous experience in Fixed Assets Accounting or Accounting.
• Familiarity with accounting standards, including IFRS and at least one set of statutory accounting rules.
• Proficient in all Finance procedures, particularly in Fixed Assets processes from start to finish.
• Familiarity with Finance systems, with a focus on SAP.
• Familiarity with the energy industry.
• Fluent in both Swedish and English.
