Key performance areas

The Accounting Manager provides technical accounting guidance to both finance and operations leaders and provides strategic operational accounting leadership for a Country with some complexity. The Accounting Manager manages a team of accountants.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Drive consistent and effective policies and procedures during monthly/quarterly close process. Lead an accountant team responsible for monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts including fixed assets, inventory, AR, AP, accruals and tax.
Ensure finance records are established according to both US GAAP and local statutory accounting in a timely, accurate and complete fashion.
Report finance status and monthly and quarterly close balances to both Regional Management and local Management.
Communication with both internal and external auditors.
Perform financial analysis of balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of account balances/financial reporting and effectiveness of business processes.
Identify and interpret potential financial risks and opportunities and communicate solutions with Regional Management and local Finance Manager.
Work closely with the business to drive simplification processes in P&L and finance flows to gain business growth.
Research and advice on complex technical accounting issues. Provide technical accounting guidance both to the business and to the team.
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational and transactional processes impacting the financial statements, including closing, reporting and analysis.
Responsibility for FX hedging
Drive all tax related tasks in US GAAP and local statutory accounting.
Responsibility for closing of annual statutory reports and reporting these to local authorities.

Your profile

You have a B.SC degree in accounting, finance, or other business related field coupled with five years progressive accounting or finance experience, OR a high school diploma / GED and at least eight years of relevant accounting or finance experience. Experience from working in a global business environment is highly merited and sound understanding of global process and transactional flows is a prerequisite. Experience from working in a matrix environment is merited and experience from leading in a global business environment is a must; you have a minimum of two years experience leading team members. A proven track record from managing projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions is highly merited.

Languages: Swedish and English.

You have strong analytical skills and are able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, thus generate alternatives and drive positive change. You are able to quickly grasp new ideas and you are always willing to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances. Furthermore, you have strong personal and professional integrity which shows in your decisions, communication, actions and when dealing with others.
