The Project Support and Administration Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for an Accounting Manager / Redovisningschef.
Description of directorate/division
The Project Support division currently consist of 18 staff, with recruitment on-going, and has two major areas:
* Planning - which includes project management processes and skills, as well as supporting the different ESS projects with project management skills and resources.
* Finance - which includes accounting, cash flow, handling of currencies and currency exposure, external reporting (including annual and quarterly reports) and internal reporting.
In addition to the mentioned areas, Project Support division also manage the risk management process as well as total cost, total schedule and risk for the construction of the ESS facility and is also responsible for all external project and financial reporting.
Description of main responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Finance group - a group currently consisting of 6 staff members.
* Oversee accounting, bookkeeping and monthly closing of the books in order to produce monthly financial data.
* Make quarterly financial reports.
* Oversee yearly closing of the books and produce financial data for the annual report.
* Ensure payments are made in a timely and safe manner
* Make cash-flow projections
* Provide adequate support, methods, processes and tools within the financial area.
* Maintain and develop the finance part of the ESS ERP system (Agresso)
* Serve as a member of the Project Support Division´s management team.
Qualifications
* Bachelor or Master´s Degree in accounting and/or finance.
* Minimum of 5 years experience from accounting and finance
* Passion for accounting and love for details
* Previous experience from leadership position including personnel responsibility.
* Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.
