Accounting Professional

You will belong to our R2R organization (Record to report within General Accounting) and will be a part of Vattenfall Finance Business Support.

Accounting R2R is the function in Finance Business Support which provides the accounting expertise to the units in Vattenfall with a strong focus on quality and compliance. Accounting R2R is the Accounting experts for IFRS and the local GAAPs, preparing postings, managing the closings and the external audit, providing financial statements. The function is organized in country specific teams for the General Accounting area.

Part of the daily operations of Accounting R2R activities are outsourced to the BPO provider Capgemini and one of the key tasks is to in all aspects secure the deliveries and optimizing the processes.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:
One of your main tasks is the handling of the general ledger in accordance with legal and group requirements for Vattenfall companies as well as leading the external audit process and providing accounting expertise.
Handle all bookkeeping relevant information and set up correct postings for IFRS and local GAAP bookkeeping with supporting documents; this includes setting-up posting instructions for Capgemini
Develop accounting memos on new accounting treatments, discuss and align with Group Accounting and the external auditors (if needed)
Support and contribute to the system closing activities, perform checks & controls (incl. IFC) and observe keeping the deadlines
Calculate provisions and accruals or steer the calculation process, set requirements on the data models if calculation is done in the business
Set up financial statements / annual reports for all legal entities (LE) in the served country and drive the completion process together with the LE management
Lead the external audit process
Contribute to good relationships and good service towards internal customers and external suppliers / customers / BPO provider
Execute services with high quality and timeliness of the delivery following common processes, policies and guidelines
Provide process improvement ideas to process experts / process specialists
Participate in development projects within FBS or group-wide / interdisciplinary projects


Knowledge, skills and experience:
Relevant University degree (e.g. Business / Accounting) or comparable other training
3-5 years of experience from working with accounting and statutory reporting within a complex organization
Functional/industry knowledge
Good knowledge of accounting rules (IFRS and at least one set of statutory accounting rules)
Good knowledge of all Finance processes, specifically of the R2R process end-to-end
Great interest and knowledge in IT-based report systems, and a good overall understanding of IT
Full professional proficiency in Swedish and English.
