Greenpeace Nordic is looking for a person to take on the role as the Action Coordinator in Sweden. This is a temporary cover which will start in September/October 2022 and last until October 2023, with possibilities for extension.

About the role
The national Action Coordinator works together with national or Nordic campaign teams to develop creative and innovative confrontations as strategic interventions to advance the campaigns. The Action Coordinator provides the Programme Department with logistical expertise and helps organize activities and trainings. They also support the climate movement by offering Greenpeace's facilities, skills and equipment. The Action Coordinator builds and maintains a diverse and inclusive network of activists and works in close collaboration with the national Volunteer Coordinator to ensure the health, safety and duty of care of all individuals before, during and after activities and training.
The national Action Coordinator works in close collaboration with other members of the Nordic Action Unit and contributes to the general development of practices, procedures and action tactics across Nordic.

- Have the experience and motivation to create and coordinate Nonviolent direct actions and creative activities.
- Have a strong understanding and commitment to the concept of Civil Disobedience and the principles of Nonviolent Direct Action.
- Have a strong commitment to Greenpeace’s mission to safeguard a green and peaceful future.
- Have a strong understanding of creating change through engagement and campaigning.
- Will bring creative ideas, inspiration and skills to our team.
- Have experience in organizing and conducting action training for activists.
- Have experience in working in diverse project teams and being a supportive team member.
- Are able to conduct risk assessments and maintain a high level of safety at all times, particularly in stressful situations.
- Are willing and able to work odd and longer hours when necessary.
- Have the flexibility to travel, including on short notice.
- Have excellent spoken and written communication skills in English (essential). Swedish language skills are considered a plus.
- Have a driver's license for cars (B). Trailer license (BE) is considered a plus.

Additional information
This is a temporary position. Last day to apply is 15th August, and interviews will take place 23rd and 24th August.
For this position goal oriented work hours applies with an overall working week on 37.5 hours. This gives you as an employee as much freedom as possible to plan work time to achieve best work-leisure balance.
