If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Active Defense Specialist.
At Enterprise IT Security (EITS, we are on a mission to secure the IT journey for the Volvo Group. We work closely together with stakeholders across several Business Areas (BAs), Truck Divisions (TDs), and Group Functions (GFs). While the BAs drive the business, the TDs provide research, development, purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly. Within Volvo Group, the GFs own the Group agenda, provide strategic direction, and have global responsibility in group-wide functions such as IT, legal, compliance, and security.
This function/role resides in the Active Cyber Defense division which is a part of EITS and responsible for proactive measures to enhance preparedness against cyber threats. You will report to the Head of Cyber Threat Protection Management in this role.
Role Description
In this role, you will:
Develop and implement effective active defense strategies, including the creation of realistic decoys, honeytokens, honeypots, and other deceptive techniques.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate deception technologies into the existing security infrastructure.
Conduct thorough research on emerging cyber threats and tactics used by threat actors to enhance the effectiveness of deception strategies.
Monitor, analyze, and respond to potential threat actors by interacting with deception environments, gathering intelligence and identifying potential risks.
Regularly assess and update deception tactics and -technologies to stay ahead of evolving threat landscapes.
Provide expert guidance and support to incident response teams during cyber-attack simulations and real-world incidents.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in deception technologies and cybersecurity trends.
Critical Competencies:
Proven experience in designing and implementing cyber deception strategies within complex enterprise environments.
Deep understanding of various deception techniques, including decoys, honeytokens, honeypots, and deceptive network architectures.
Familiarity with modern cybersecurity technologies, -tools, and -frameworks.
Strong knowledge of common attack vectors, threat actor techniques, and incident response methodologies.
Effective communication skills to clearly convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Willingness to learn, know and understand Volvo Group security policies, directives and requirements
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the active defense domain.
Experience in tech, security or automotive industry is highly regarded.
Subject matter expertise in vulnerability management and external attack surface management.
Strong commitment to staying updated with emerging cyber threats, industry trends, and advancements in deception technologies.
