The Sensor Fusion team within Safety Electronics department is a tight team with strong team sense. We truly believe that our difference in culture, age and experience is what makes us successful. We develop functions in embedded software to enable the fusion of information from our growing number of safety sensors in order to provide the most efficient and reliable description of the vehicle surroundings.Our contribution is of great importance to be able to maintain our position as world leading in safety and specifically in the area of autonomous driving.

As a First Software Developing Engineer you will be a part of a team that work with development in both research projects with external partners (such as other car manufactures, governmental organisations and universities) in an international environment, as well as advanced engineering and in industrialisation phases until the product is launched to the end customer. This gives you the opportunity to participate in different phases and gain a wider perspective of the complete development chain, from research to final product.

Main responsibilities

* Responsible for requirement setting of sensors and environmental perception interface based on the needs from the active safety customer functions in our ongoing vehicle programs.
* Responsible for development of data-fusion algorithms between sensors and map to meet the needs to reach our goal of having the safest vehicles that will not crash or fatally injure any one in 2020
* Performance evaluation of different fusion concepts for sensors and map
* Performance evaluation of in-vehicle-integrated sensors and map
* Assist in integration of new sensor configurations and adaption to new sensor interfaces and data logging
* Algorithm development in C and Matlab Embedded Coder for data fusion
* Performance evaluation/participation in evaluation of fusion algorithms in by testing in vehicle on our test track and on bench
* Evaluation of implemented fusion concepts towards reference sensors and ideal sensors (SIL/MIL environments)
* Requirement definition and documentation to enable testmethod development and verification

Required qualifications

* M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics (Z), Physics or equivalent
* Experience in developing Signal processing algorithms for data fusion
* Education and deeper knowledge within the following areas will be meritorious:
* Signal processing, Data fusion, tracking, estimation theory, sensors and sensor modelling, mathematical statistics, map and positioning techniques is meritorious
* Experience in programming in C/C++ or Matlab and in implementing filters and algorithms in these languages
* Experience from work with sensorfusion/tracking using data from different types of sensors such as radars, cameras, stero camera, lidars and map
* Experience from SW development and the applicable development processes used to quality assure developed SW
