Academic Work is on behalf of our client looking for an administrative assistant to join a biomedical research group in the Department of Pharmacy. Our client is a bio-medical department at a highly regarded university where the research group's leader is looking for an assistant part-time (approximately 50%). This is a consultant assignment. Academic Work will be your employer and you will work as a consultant with our client.
ARBETSUPPGIFTER
As an assistant to the professor, you will carry out administrative work and support the professor in his daily activities. Job responsibilities are varied and can include such things as calendar planning, checking meetings, archiving and the organizing of documents, helping with administrative preparations for teaching, as well as booking, planning and preparing documents for travel undertaken by the professor. Additionally, there will be daily responsibilities, such as managing and sorting incoming email and calendar appointments for the day. Occasionally you will also assist with international visitors to the department.
For example, you will:
* Review the priorities of the day/week with the professor
* Handle bookings and updates in the professor's calendar
* Plan and book meetings
* Register the professor for conferences, meetings etc,. and keep track of deadlines

* A student of at least 50% with a flexible schedule and at least 1 year left of your studies
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken, as the group has many international members and the role frequently deals with international guests and collaborators.
* Previous experience from administrative tasks
* Excellent knowledge within Microsoft Office applications and Outlook Exchange
It is considered meritorious if you have previously worked as a secretary or assistant and have experience with handling e-mail, calendar planning and meetings.
We are looking for a person who is thorough and can plan, organize and prioritize the work effectively. It is important that you see what needs to be done, take your own initiatives and have the ability to multi-task. As the professor travels a lot, the work requires that you be independent and at that you have excellent communication skills. Furthermore you should be flexible as the administrative work can include all types of tasks at a high pace.

* Start: April, for the right person there may be a possibility to work 50% during some of the summer-weeks as well
* Work extent: Part-time, preferably 8-12
