Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania Connected Services develop hardware and software targeting the connected vehicle, delivering functionality like real time positioning and fleet management solutions, as well as complex analytic services for fuel- and maintenance optimisation.
We are currently exploring parts of the transport industry in the context of the ongoing IoT transformation where technology is evolving at a pace not seen since the industrial revolution. For us this means to understand and leverage our business by understanding a collective hive of intelligent and connected trucks.
Your task
Scania has delivered more than 200 000 connected vehicles that are continuously reporting telematics data from their worldwide operations. The data is processed and consumed by different customer services and now we want to strengthen our Driver and Vehicle Evaluation area.
We are now looking for a developer with interest in advanced analytics to a position in a team that will investigate how state of the art big data analytics can provide models and mine insights about current and historic vehicle events from the information buried in the vast amounts of connected vehicle data.
We take deep pride in setting up cross-functional teams that can act autonomously and move advanced concepts into understandable and industrialised products. We believe that you will be the team member that will take lead on bridging the gap between the development of mathematically heavy algorithms and the architectural challenges that follows with the task of creating software services that provides valuable information to our customers’ businesses.
Your profile
We see that you have experience in high level programming in complex systems. We value attitude and an eagerness to continuously learn and adapt to new concepts over specific skills, but you have probably worked with algorithm oriented software development and/or architecture for distributed systems. We suspect that when you look back at your education, courses in topics such as algorithms and data structures, optimization or machine learning are remembered with fondness.
You are team oriented and love to feel the flow inside the team were the team members challenges different ideas, technics and innovations.
Relevant education is BSc or MSc within Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar.
