Advanced Engineer (AE) Leader

Department Electric Propulsion Systems (EPS) is responsible for development of High Voltage (HV) System design, HV Batteries, Electric Machines, Inverters, Power supplies and On-Board Chargers. Within the Department, the newly formed EPS Project Section will lead all projects in all phases. The group consists of 8 employees and its purpose is to steer activities for all projects against the set objectives for the collected efforts of the projects The group is responsible for tracking program status and drive corrective actions if outside committed targets, assure that Best Practice methods for Project Management are applied in EPS.

As Advanced Engineer Leader you will project lead in a very young team which is eager to Electrify our brand in a broad effort with Plug-In Hybrids (PHEVs) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). You will plan and manage the department work for tasks in Annual, Core, Organisational Development (OD) and Advanced Engineering (AE)-tasks. Interaction within the whole EPS department is important, as well as with other units within R&D, and even wider in Volvo Cars and CEVT/Geely. This position is responsible for the innovation process within the department and also responsible for the NEEDS/MEANS process within the department. As AE Leader you will also represent the department at Powertrain meetings for AE and OD.

Main responsibilities

* Administrate the AE documents on department level
* Report project status to the unit's Annual and AE responsible and line manager
* Follow up and initiate corrections and recovery plans for deviations of deliveries against the project plan
* Monitor other department's AE assignments and judge how the section's technical area is affected
* Take part in and contribute to System Development Plan (SDP) work
* Work with governmental organizations, for example regarding co-financing
* Compile the department's AE and OD-portfolios
* Manage and ensure delivery of all assignments in the AE and and OD-portfolios
* Challenge the organisation and existing technology solutions
* Be responsible for the department's master thesis project-portfolio and ensure that master theses are carried out in line with the department's targets
* Contribute to SDP work and towards improving working processes and routines.
* Administrate the department's AE Sharepoint site

Required qualifications

* M. Sc. or B. Sc in a relevant field, or a broad scientific / technical education
* Good practical and theoretical knowledge within the Powertrain or Electrical fields,
* Experience in projects and of an Automotive production start
* Experience in personnel and task management
* Good knowledge of working methods and systems release of technical design documents, task and deviation management, planning, project monitoring, financial control
* Complete vehicle knowledge and good knowledge on the complete system level
* Knowledge of managing and implementing research projects
* Good understanding of product development
* Capability of leading budget work to be contained in a financial target
* PC skills Microsoft Office
* Driving license B
