Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Will you be a part of driving the shift to sustainable transport solutions and develop Scania’s manufacturing of electrified transmissions as Advanced Method Engineer?
You will be involved in a team of creative and driven engineers responsible for improving and developing current and future manufacturing methods for transmission components.
Tasks
You will act as a knowledge hub and support the entire transmission manufacturing organisation with fact based solutions to current and future technical challenges.
This will require a short and long term strategic view of the development of both our manufacturing processes and our products. In collaboration with the local management team and our technical experts, you will conduct and coordinate the work with our “Tool management Roadmap”, which describes our long term competence needs.
Your challenge will be to globally improve current machining methods and enable the implementation of new technologies, to ensure optimum product properties with high end quality and capacity. You will have a wide network of contacts within the unit and the company as well as with external suppliers and research partners at universities and institutes.
You will also work directly with today’s manufacturing, supporting in complex and urgent problem solving tasks, in order to keep the daily operations running. The timeline of your assignments can be anything from a few minutes to several years.
Your profile
You have a Bachelor of science in engineering or MSc degree with a focus on production, mechanical engineering or materials science, or have equivalent experience and we believe that you have deep interest in mechanical design
• Experience from machining, hardening and surface treatment is an advantage.
• Gear engineering experience is a merit
• Experience from research and development is beneficial
• Ability and willingness to share experiences and guide colleagues
• As the job includes international contacts, Swedish and English at a professional level is a requirement and German is a merit
