As an Advisor at NordGen, you are working within projects and consultancies to promote conservation and sustainable utilization of Nordic farm animals. Your duties will include facilitation of networks and communication with multiple stakeholder groups. With your expertise, you will strengthen the conservation measures of farm animals through both planning and conducting projects. We believe that you have an existing network which will nourish NordGen’s activities and that you would enjoy creating new stakeholder contacts for the farm animal sectors, both in the Nordic countries and at an international level. NordGen Farm Animals is an organization where own initiatives and ideas are encouraged and welcomed. At this position, you will be able to investigate and carry out new options for promotion of the sustainable use of animal genetic resources in the Nordic Region.
Requirements:
· A MSc. in animal genetics or related fields
· Relevant working experience in research, breeding, or conservation
· Successful experience of conducting research projects
· Experience of international research cooperation
· Fluency in one of the Scandinavian languages and English is required.
Merits:
· A Ph.D. in animal genetics or related fields
· Experience in large-scale data analysis in genomics
· High number of published scientific articles in relation to academic career.
· Experience in using databases in the everyday work.
· Well documented and wide network of relevant collaboration partners
· Experience of Nordic collaboration

It is an advantage if you can easily adapt to and work with new organizations. Open-mindedness and flexibility are key attributes which will be useful as the position might require the ability to make quick changes.

The position will require some travelling. The job is at the premises of the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) in Ås, Norway.
The employment contract is a temporary contract according to parental leave for 12 months.
