We are looking for real aviators to join our Special Flight Operations team. We have a plan in place and clear work philosophy, now we need more highly skilled pilots.
Your role
Saab has received an order from MSB, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, regarding Sweden's aerial fire-fighting capabilities. The aircraft we operate is an Air Tractor 802 Fireboss that falls under the Amphibious Scooper Air Tanker category.
Amphibious Scooper Air Tanker pilots fly on single-engine, single crew, low-level, high-risk operation in a hostile environment. You must possess a series of characteristics and skills to be able to operate in a safe manner.
If suitable you would be trained and rostered to be ready to be deployed with moments notice and work in formation as part of a team dedicated to provide safe and efficient aerial firefighting.
Your profile
Pre-Requisites:
* Minimum 3000 hrs TT
* Minimum 1000 hrs PIC
* EASA CPL(A) or the possibility of valid conversion
* Valid Class 1 Medical
* Eligible to work in Sweden
* Class Rating preferred
The following is valued for this position:
You must possess excellent communication skills, and be able to read, write, and understand English at ICAO level 5 or above. You have an ability to work under a SPO operator organizational chart in close coordination with Chief Pilot, FOM, SM, and AM.
You must be able to work well with a variety of personalities, diffuse conflicts, and maintain a generative work environment. We seek for interdependency and potential synergy among our team members. As we work under adverse conditions, it is imperative that you maintain professional relationships under pressure. You have to be able to adapt to various dynamic working environments within the Fire Fighting Scenario.
Abilities:
* The ideal package of abilities would be: manual flying, aerobatics background, low-level flying (below 100ft), formation flying, float planes, turboprop, crop spraying, and any other activities that helped to develop spatial and kinaesthetic intelligence. Previous experience from working with aerial fire fighting is highly valued.
* You must have awareness of associated risk factors and the ability to make consistent, conservative, and timely decisions.
* You must be able to use IT tools to enhance training, productivity, and situational awareness. You also need the ability to reference and understand manuals, as O.M., S.O.P.S. Techlogs, discrepancies and MEL usage.
What you will be a part of
You will work within the Saab Flight Operations Department under our Special Flight operations branch.
The Special Flight Operations consists of Target towing and Electronic Warfare training for our military clients and calibration flying for airport navigation aides both military and civilian. High risk operations at low altitude with emphasis on safety has been a big part of what we do at SAAB for many years and we are excited to add Aerial Firefighting to that list.
