Northvolt is now looking for an Aftermarket Development Engineer! In this role, you will work in close collaboration with customers and R&D to develop tools, methods and logic for commissioning, operation, troubleshooting and service for both existing products and new products in development.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Mapping and analysing software and hardware related functions, diving deep into the functionality of the battery systems.
Study of the customer environment, mapping out optimal methods for interaction, troubleshooting, service and testing of the battery systems in their intended environment.
Updating DTC troubleshooting methods for current products generation.
Specification and securing Aftermarket requirements for serviceability, rework ability, troubleshooting and fault resolution functionality in the product design.
Developing, together with R&D, service tools (SW&HW) and methods for Aftermarket Service Operations and internal use.
Establishing a knowledge base and standardized way of working with regard to proactive management of field-based battery systems.
Establishing a standardized approach to defining service levels and activities for new customers.
Documentation within the Aftermarket framework
Collaboration cross-functionally within Aftermarket and within R&D at Northvolt Systems
Requirements:
Master’s in Engineering, preferably within Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science or Applied Physics
3+ years from working with customer applications
Preferred experience of development of battery management systems and/or charging systems
Preferred experience within the renewable energy field
Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, with excellent time management
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
Self-sufficiency in performing practical tasks such as troubleshooting, testing, and evaluating control systems
Ability to travel on a frequent basis
Specific skills
Excellent English written and oral skills
Can read schematics and understand system designs.
Can use PC based tools for reading out diagnostic trouble codes, uploading software and configuring control units, and doing CAN network recordings to find functional issues.
