AI researcher

Arbetsbeskrivning

Do you have a deep understanding of various machine learning techniques? Are you curious about exploring real problems to find creative and complex solutions? If so, you might be the person we are looking for!

A better world needs more perspectives.

This requires new knowledge and new technologies. For that, a gathering force is needed. RISE, Sweden’s independent research institute and innovation partner, is that gathering force. Within RISE we have breadth in excellence, which enables us to fulfill our purpose to deliver sustainable solutions and drive the change in traditional sectors. We’re working close to all sectors in different roles, and we know that the best path to the solution of a complex problem is creative, challenging, and fun.

About us
At RISE, we have long experience in using cutting edge research and technology in AI to solve real world problems. In the department of Computer Science, we perform state-of-the-art research in advanced statistical data analysis, natural language processing, deep learning, trustworthy AI, and reasoning among other topics. We are looking for a researcher with documented experience in theoretical machine learning, especially deep learning. Does this sound interesting? We now have an open position located in either Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Lund, Sweden.

About the position
You will work on applied AI projects in collaboration with industry, the public sector, and academia. You will develop and use advanced machine learning models to solve complex problems in various application domains, including maritime, mobility, and energy. We always aim to develop the most efficient tool to solve the problem and the solutions may therefore also involve other techniques such as natural language processing, statistical methods, reasoning, optimization, simulation, or causal interference. We deliver state-of-the-art solutions to our industrial and public-sector partners, and collaboration and communication with these partners are key. At the same time we strive to stay relevant and produce state-of-the art research and to publish in major venues.

Who are you?
You either have a PhD degree or a few years working experience in a relevant topic, with an interest in research. You have a deep understanding of various machine learning techniques, such as deep learning and anomaly detection, and you are skilled in developing your solutions in Python. Experience in other programming languages, especially C++, is meriting. You are fluent in writing and speaking English, and Swedish is considered an advantage. You are curious about exploring the real problems of industry and the public sector and collaborate well with people in different roles. If you have experience working with a variety of data modalities and real world data, or experience from industry that is considered a plus.

Are we right for each other?
At RISE we are constantly moving borders of the possible, developing new knowledge and competence for the future. We are convinced that different perspectives are crucial for an innovative environment. We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated and competent colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for Swedish industry and research globally. Here you get the chance to make a real difference. Welcome to Sweden’s Research Institute and Innovation Partner.
