About the role

As an Algorithm Developer, you will be part of our R&D organization together with 180 colleagues at RaySearch’s head office in central Stockholm. You will work within the development department on the treatment planning system RayStation, which is used by clinics all over the world to treat cancer patients. Your focus will be on development of treatment planning methods, including modeling of treatment machine capabilities and development of methods for optimization of the treatment delivery.

You will work within an agile product development team with other Algorithm Developers, Application Developers and Test Specialists, all dedicated to design and evolve cutting-edge medical software. Core algorithms are developed in C++ while the application layers are developed in C#. You will participate in all steps of the development process, including analysis, software design, implementation, and testing. You will also work in close collaboration with the research department. The initial year will be spent in an interdepartmental setting where you divide your time between product development and research tasks, to gain knowledge from both areas.

Your profile

You are self-motivated and take responsibility for your tasks and contribute to the team with a positive and flexible attitude. You have good analytical skills and a creative mindset. You appreciate being part of a growing company, where working methods and processes are not static.

Experience and skills:

• We think that you have a MSc in computer science, mathematics, physics, or similar area.
• Recent graduates are welcome to apply. Zero to three years’ experience from an industry or academic environment is meriting.
• Applicants must have a strong interest in programming and basic programming skills. Skills in C++ and C# are particularly relevant.
• It is important to have interest and knowledge in applied mathematics. Experience of mathematical optimization is an advantage, but not required.
• Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Swedish is a strong advantage.
