About the job

You will be part of an agile team working together on the development of the RayStation treatment planning system that is used by clinics worldwide to treat cancer patients. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for design and implementation of methods for radiation therapy treatment planning, including modeling of machine capabilities and utilization of these capabilities in an optimal way. You work closely together and decide how you want to solve problems and divide tasks among you. You will also collaborate and co-develop methods with internal and external research partners. You will participate in the whole development process including analysis, software design, implementation, testing, and support.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Design and implement methods for treatment planning using C# and C++
• Design and implement associated application logic using C#
• Continuously improve and optimize existing code and algorithms

Your profile

You are a highly motivated and skilled software developer with an interest in computation and algorithms and want to develop within this field. You take responsibility for your own tasks, and you contribute to the team's goals with a positive spirit. You are a problem solver with attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• MSc in computer science, applied mathematics, physics, or related field
• Solid programming skills, preferably in C# and C++
• Interest and knowledge in computation and applied mathematics
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and/or English

Relevant software development experience is a strong advantage, but recent graduates are welcome to apply. The offered role will be adapted the candidate’s level of experience. Experience of modeling and solving mathematical optimization problems is meriting as well as experience in radiation oncology or other areas of medical technology.
