We are now recruiting an Alliance Portfolio Manager to join our Biosamples Alliances and technology Team within our Precision Medicine and Biosamples function.

Human Biological Samples (HBS) are fundamental to medical research in the discovery, development and implementation of new treatments and diagnostics. They are ethically sensitive materials and underpin the delivery of every clinical trial.
What you'll do
The Alliance portfolio manager role will join the Alliance team who own and manage the relationship with our central laboratory partners who serve across Astrazeneca's entire portfolio.
The Alliance Portfolio Manager is a key role accountable for the ownership of partnership associated critical issues. In this position you will act as the key contact for Biosamples oversight of partnership related issues and successes, liaising between Alliance, line management and program management roles within Biosamples as appropriate. You will be a member of the core Alliance team liaising closely with the alliance leads to ensure coordination of issues within the portfolio and the partnership's strategic direction.
You will be supporting Biosamples roles in the completion of CAPAs associated with Partnership delivery and communicate to relevant Partnership colleagues to ensure changes are implemented and communicated in line with other partnership roles. You drive initiatives to enable optimisation of partnership processes as determined by the Process and Standards lead, acting as an ambassador on behalf of the partnership across business units, to communicate successes, findings, improvements and requirements. Additional responsibilities will include:

Drive clarity of accountabilities and deliverables to facilitate the flawless, collaborative resolution of challenges between the partnership and other functions

Improve communications between AstraZeneca and extended partner teams
*
Monitor and communicate updates of challenges that impact across the portfolio
*
Lead or participate in Alliance related initiatives as appropriate
*
Ensure the partner team have the capacity and knowledge required to support the portfolio, in keeping with current and future business needs.

Reports on escalations, their status and outcomes to the Operational Steering Team
*
Works closely in collaboration with the Partnership roles to resolve escalations and implement improvements
*
Support continuous improvement, quality and productivity
With this in mind we are looking for someone who is knowledgeable and experienced in sample and project management processes/techniques related to clinical trials. Furthermore, you are capable of authoritatively leading diverse and complex interactions with partners, demonstrate ownership, excellent communication skills and forward thinking whilst maintaining a collaborative attitude. Strong leadership to ensure successful interactions between study team members and partner roles is needed.
It is crucial to maintain an agile approach and possess confidence and courage to make decisions. You will demonstrate integrity and dedication and ability to drive collaborative solutions across the partnership portfolio.
Essential for the role

Scientific/Business degree or equivalent experience
