Analysis Engineer

At Volvo Cars Safety Centre 130 highly skilled professionals strive every day for making the world a safer place for car drivers, passengers of different size and age, pedestrians, bicyclists and everyone else on the road. Leading in Safety has been a core value at Volvo Cars since 1927.
The group Safety Strategy & Requirements are responsible for developing strategies, requirements and methods for future Volvo Cars based on real world customer data. The mission is directly driving the Volvo Cars Safety Vision for 2020 and beyond. Different international real world data sources are used for this mission including Volvo Cars own Traffic Accident and Naturalistic Driving databases.
As an Analysis Engineer you will be part of Volvo Cars Traffic accident Research Team and we are looking for a highly motivated co-worker who wants to build and spread the knowledge of how to engineer the safest cars possible. The daily work will include collection, preparation and analysis of real world data used for the development of pioneering safety technologies. You will need to work both on an individual level and together with the team to create quality assured results. To co-operate with cross functional teams within the Research & Development organisation in order to drive technology development and implementation will be a natural part of the task.
Main responsibilities
* Signal processing, specifications for data collection and method implementation for data analysis
* Develop and implement scripts and tools for reconstruction of events used for requirements and CAE
* Development of IT tools and databases for real world safety data
* Annotation of accident and incident events from different data sources
* Documentation of annotation manuals, digitalisation scripts and Time-History Database
* In-depth investigations including on-scene data collection and reconstruction of accidents
Required qualifications
* University degree or equivalent in Computer Aided Engineering
* Good knowledge and experience in Matlab
* Fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken)
* Experience in calculus and FEM is meritorious
* Experience in analysis of large data sources is meritorious
* Knowledge and experience in accident research is an advantage
