Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
What do we offer?
Sustainability is now one of the three pillars that make up the very life and soul of Volvo Cars, just as safety has been since the birth of the company. Within Materials Efficiency we contribute to sustainability by supporting design, engineering teams at ARTs and procurement in choosing the most suitable materials at the right place in the car to secure the quality.
This we do by formulating and distribute requirements for ageing of polymer materials at both components and complete vehicle level. The teams are highly involved in verification through testing of components, subsystems and systems, and are responsible for complete vehicle test and analysis. As one of Volvo Cars sustainability goal is to increase the amount of recycled material in the car, the dialogue with engineering teams about polymer materials has become truly important.
Do you want to reach your personal goals together with dedicated people in the future car projects? Then the role as Analysis Engineer within Ageing Polymer Materials Teams at Material Centre is the place for you to prosper. We can offer you great team spirit while striving to secure high quality standards of our products.
What you will do
You will perform system and component testing and do test analyses on primarily exterior components of the complete vehicle. You will have a close cooperation with the engineering departments you are working with. Your responsibilities will be to develop test plans, perform system and component testing and secure that the test results and reports are delivered on time. You will be involved in virtual verification of car projects. You will also summarise lessons learned from each project and feed back to engineering in the concept phase of the next program. You will also participate in the development of new test methods to meet future needs and requirements.
Who are you?
You are a customer focused engineer with the ability to drive tasks towards goals and deliver on time. You possess strong communication and well documented collaboration skills which you will use to build strong networks. You are eager to work in a group, cooperating with others and curious on new material development. You enjoy working with physical testing in a laboratory environment. You have a polymeric material background/knowledge base. As a person, you have a positive mindset and are passionate about solving problems.
We see that you have a University Degree in Engineering, preferably Material Science or similar that provide you with knowledge of polymer material engineering. You also have experience as a test engineer such as performing tests in rig, develop methods and/or of virtual verification. Experience within Interior or Exterior Polymer Engineering is meritorious.
