We are looking for an Analysis Engineer for our Electrical and Software Workshops withing Research and Development at Volvo Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

We are operating within the Prototype Build & Verification organization at Volvo Cars, which is part of Complete Vehicle Engineering. Our organization consists of several sections, such as Workshops, Pilot Plant & Concept Centre and Test Object & Vehicle Management. We work with complete cars, engines and power trains. During the development phase, we build, maintain, update and dispose the test objects. The group is located at five different geographical locations within Volvo Cars Torslanda, in Gothenburg. Our most common job is electrical and software work in various forms of powertrain rigs, as well as for complete test cars.
What you’ll do
As Analysis Engineer, your main task will be:
• Software downloads on test cars built in our facilities
• Delivery control of cars built in Gothenburg (Torslanda) and Belgium (Ghent), China and US
• Troubleshooting in the car's electrical system and software parts
• Troubleshooting in the car's high voltage electrical system, battery, and electric motors
• Perform troubleshooting and analysis due to hardware or software problems in R&D test cars
• Support for test object build, as well as on cold and hot expeditions, press activities, etc.
This role requires you to be prepared to travel for about 20-30 travel days per calendar year.
You and your skills
We see that you have an industry electrician background and knowledge of fault tracing in Ethernet or similar networks. You will also need great computer skills and experience in mechanic work. Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) as well as a driving license (B) is also necessary.
Car mechanic background or similar, with diagnostic techniques focusing on electricity, as well as knowledge and experience from Canalyzer, Vida, DSA, Inca, KDP, PIE or PIE R&D is meritorious, as well as experience from product quality work, forklift license, BE-driving license and a Hybrid Technician certificate.
On a personal level, we are looking for you who want to be part in creating and developing our future technology. Sharing experiences and knowledge with your team is a natural way of working for you. But you are also comfortable to work independently, especially during travels to different workshops.
