Within the group Materials Efficiency/propulsion we contribute by helping the engineering departments choosing the correct material.The responsibility includes target setting testing in laboratory, perform component and material testing in related areas of mechanical or material testing and chemical analysis. Material identification, characterisation and verification are essential to ensure materials (products) have been manufactured to the correct alloy grade, conforming to international standards. Chemical analysis is used in to determine the material used to produce a component.

What you’ll do
You will have a close cooperation with the engineering departments you are working with. Your responsibilities will be to secure that the test results, deviations and reports are delivered on time. You will also perform system and component testing and do test analyses on all levels within complete vehicle. The areas of expertise that you will develop are metal materials and Electro Chemistry.
You will be the one summarises lessons learned from each project and give feedback to engineering in the next concept phase.
Material identification, characterisation and verification are essential for businesses to ensure their materials or products have been manufactured to the correct alloy grade and conform to national or international codes and standards. Metal chemical analysis is also used in reverse engineering to determine the alloys used to produce a component and in failure investigations to establish whether the correct alloy was used.
You and your skills
You are a customer focused engineer with the ability to set a plan, drive tasks towards goals and deliver on time. You possess strong communication skills and are eager to work in a group, cooperating with others, but you also possess the skills to take the lead when needed.
We see that you have a university degree in Material Science with preferably extended knowledge in metals. You have gained excellent skills in material science, data bases as well as preparation of samples for testing and analysis. You will also need good practical and theoretical vehicle knowledge. Last but not least, knowledge of Agile Way of Working & SAFe training wold be beneficial, at least a positive approach to Agile is required.
