Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
What’s in it for you?
We are looking for an Analysis Engineer within Sustainable Propulsion Materials to join our Sustainability Centre at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg. Do you want to reach your personal goals together with dedicated people in future car projects? Then this role is the place for you to prosper. We can offer you great team spirit while striving together for sustainable and high-quality standards of our products.
Sustainability is one of the three pillars that make up the very life and soul of Volvo Cars, just as safety has been since the birth of the company. We are integrating it into the way we think when we prioritise and build a strong future for our company.
Within the group Materials Efficiency – Vehicle Architecture we contribute by supporting design- and engineering teams at ARTs (Agile Release Trains) and procurement in choosing the most suitable materials at the right place in the car. The teams are highly involved in verification of components, subsystems, and systems, and are responsible for complete vehicle test and analysis. As one of Volvo Cars sustainability goal is to increase the amount of recycled material in the car, the dialogue with engineering teams about polymer and metallic materials has become truly important.
What you’ll do
As Analysis Engineer, you will work closely with different engineering teams. Your responsibilities will be to develop test plans, and to secure that the test results, deviations, and reports are delivered on time. You will be involved in virtual verification of all car projects. You will also perform system and component testing in rigs such as tensile rigs and do test analyses on all levels within complete vehicle.
You and your skills
We see that you have a university degree in Engineering, preferably Chemistry and Materials, or similar. Experience from material testing is meritorious.
On a personal level, you are a customer focused engineer with the ability to drive tasks towards goals and deliver on time. You possess strong communication skills and are eager to work in a group, cooperating with others. You also have a positive approach to Agile Way of Working.
