Fault Tracing & Analysis Engineer – Climate Systems, Vehicle Platform, R&D

Who we are
The Climate department is responsible for the climate development within Volvo Car Group and the department is part of the Vehicle Platform unit within Volvo Car's Engineering division. The Climate department owns most of the components connected to the climate function and the SW-control of the same. We are in a challenging and exciting journey where climate is an important contributor to the electrification, energy efficiency and digitalization transformation of the company.
The Testing & Analysis team supports the climate department with planning and execution of physical vehicle and rig testing and analysis. We also develop new test methods, coordinate test-object needs within the department and lead road testing expeditions. We support many different roles at the climate department, and roles in other departments as well.
What we offer
As a Fault Tracing & Analysis engineer in the Climate Testing & Analysis-team, you will be a part of a dedicated, supportive, and fun team. You will together with your team plan and prioritize the backlog and make sure to deliver the scope of the team.
You will support many different roles at the climate department and other departments with recommendations based on your analysis and experience. You also will support your team and the department with vehicle fault tracing. We have a wide variety of work assignment, and we strive for strong collaboration and exchange of knowledge. We share the responsibility of making sure that the team and department delivers, and we understand that we are the ones making a difference.
What you will do
Close cooperation with your team, interfacing teams and other stakeholders within the company is key. In the team, we have different skills and responsibilities but always support each other and share work the load. This position will have a main focus on fault tracing which means that you need to have the ability to take lead in supporting your team and department with fault tracing of test vehicles, rigs, instrumentation setups, using tools such as DSA, CANoe, INCA and more.
You will work also with physical verification and analysis, present and explain the result to different stakeholders. You will also be able to work with developing new methods.
This role gives you a great opportunity to develop your technical skills, communication, coordination, and collaboration skills.
Experience and educational background
We believe you have completed at least a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent from work experience.
We will be looking for the following skills:
• Experience working within thermodynamics field, and physical testing & verification, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Experience with working with tools such as DSA, CANOE/Canalyzer, INCA.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, and an ability to build and maintain strong network and relationships with stakeholders. An ability to drive forward and have a strong will to solve problems. Contributor to a great team sprit.
• Fluent in English, both written and orally.
• You need to have a driving license “B”, valid in Sweden.
