What’s in it for you?
We are looking for an Analysis/Test Engineer for our Durability Lab within Safety and Durability verification at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The section Safety and Durability verification is responsible for facilities, test equipment and operation of test rigs. We deliver essential data in the form of measurement/test reports, measured data, photos, and films to internal and external customers. We are also responsible for maintaining and updating the test equipment and for new investments in our labs. 

Durability Lab is responsible for advanced test equipment for durability testing and measurements. We are performing testing in test lab and on test tracks to verify vehicle suspension, steering system, powertrain installation, car body, safety system, interior, climatic system, etc. 

We have many new and exciting challenges due to the electrification of Volvo vehicles and we are now looking for an Analysis/Test Engineer to support the development of durability testing with electrical and active systems. 

What you’ll do 
As an Analysis/Test Engineer, your main responsibilities are durability testing of components and systems with electric and hydraulic test equipment, creating test sequences/scripts and perform analysis using software tools, instrumentation and data acquisition in lab and on test tracks, and documentation of performed testing, measurements, and analysis. Together with test-, design- and CAE engineers, you develop and design test methods and equipment needed to support strength and durability testing of interior and exterior vehicle systems, which include electrical and active systems. 

You and your skills
We believe you have a BSc or MSc within Mechanical, Electrics or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent previous experience. You are fluent in English both written and spoken and you hold a valid European driver’s license (B). Previous testing experience, knowledge of measurement technology, transducers and data acquisition systems is meritorious along with the ability to operate and use diagnostic scan tools, scopes, meters and other test equipment, knowledge in Matlab, Simulink, dSpace or Python and an interest in software programming.

On a personal level, you are a good communicator with interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and encourage people as well as driving change and implementation.
