The ART Traction Battery Software is responsible for the development of major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems at Volvo Cars. We are currently moving to in-house development of key software components of the traction battery management system. Traction batteries are complex systems containing hundreds of battery cells together with a thermal conditioning system which needs to be monitored and controlled. To operate the battery in a safe and optimal way, it is crucial to verify that all measurements are reliable and correct. This is where you come in.
What you’ll do
As Analysis and Verification Engineer, you will work in HIL- and battery laboratory environment, and run both manual tests and develop automatic tests. You will also work with test vehicles and develop current and new test methods for the traction battery with focus on system safety. You will create working processes and procedures as well as deliver test results. Analyzing delivery results and propose improvements, is also essential to this role. In addition, you will perform sanity checks, Go/NoGo and I/O tests of complete software delivery. This role will collaborate with different departments such as design and software integration teams for the traction battery. Occasional travelling will be a part of this role since expeditions will take place around Sweden and abroad.
What you'll bring
You either hold a master’s degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics, alternatively a bachelor’s degree with several years of relevant work experience. You have knowledge in high voltage systems, electrical safety, and electrical architecture. You have experience of Software testing and of using Electra, INCA and Canalyzer. Knowledge and experience of working with diagnostics, UDS, OBD2 and diagnostic testing will advantageous. You should be comfortable using Matlab and Simulink as well as to work according to ISO26262 standards. Driving license B, valid in EU, is required as well as English fluency. ISTQB certification is meritorious.
