Here´s a chance to join the R&D team at Flint Groups Narrow Web divison, as a R&D Analytical Chemist. This is a role for someone who enjoys to be responsible for the full picture, being hands on, providing guidance based on your expertise and last but nog least, envisioning where the analytical lab will be in the future. Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for the analytical lab, planning and executing the analytical
work in cooperation with the rest of the R&D team. Flint Group manufactures and markets an extensive portfolio of conventional and energy curable inks, printing plates for flexo and letterpress, sleeve systems for flexographic applications, pigments and additives for use in inks and other colourant applications, printing blankets, sleeves and pressroom chemicals for offset printing. We offer our customers a unique portfolio of system solutions and technical service. New products are jointly developed together with customers and partners.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
• To evaluate the performance of UV curable inks, both with basic and more advanced chemical analysis, such as LC-MS, GC-MS, in order to support the execution and acceleration of development projects and customer inquiries
• To provide guidance regarding the right technical path forward, by planning, executing and interpreting analytical development work
• Support the business and Narrow Web market segments with deep analytical know-how, within the fast changing frame of global regulations, to secure sustainable solutions for our customers
• To ensure that the analytical lab is continuously updated, reaching a state of the art level, by following trends and networking with analytical institutes and universities
Qualifications
To thrive in this role and achieve good results, we see that you have the following experience and/or knowledge with you:
• PhD or MSc degree in Organic chemistry and/or analytical chemistry
• Knowledge and experience in method development in LC-MS and GC-MS
• Experience in statistical methods such as PCA (Principal component analysis) and/or design-of-experiments
• Great ability to absorb new technology quickly
• Great ability to identify the central part of complex problems and questions
• Fluency in English, both in writing and orally
• Dedication and passion about printing inks
