The position
NENT Group’s Data Relations team is responsible for assisting teams get access to and understand data about Viaplay’s everyday operations - from sales to viewing. To do this, the Data Relations team designs data sets, data models, and reporting dashboards. In this position you will work close with the Data Engineering team and bridge the gap between analytics and engineering. Our modern solution runs on AWS and our tech stack includes Exasol as a data warehouse, Airflow for data pipeline orchestration, Databricks for data processing and data transformation.

The journey ahead
In a rapidly expanding international streaming service, business insights and reporting allow Viaplay to monitor its performance and tune its strategy to its customers.
Some of your tasks might be:
- Developing and maintaining analytic solutions that balance flexible self-service business with fast, maintainable data sets.
- Identifying ways of upholding quality of data processing, data analytics, and continuous integration.
- Liaising with data engineering and data analysis teams to develop structured and well-defined data sets.
What we are looking for
To be our next colleague, we will have experience in a similar role with strong software engineering practices. You are naturally curious and excited about engineering performant datasets and enjoy asking questions to understand problem spaces. With great analytical skills and a customer-centric approach, you like making sense of and structure data so it can be intuitively consumed. As we work with dozens of teams that support Viaplay’s daily operations, your communication skills will be prized as you will be an enabler for change.
Ideal candidates also meet the following requirements:
- At least 5+ years of experience in building and maintaining novel large scale data sets using both SQL, Python, and Spark.
- Comfortable supporting as a technical mentor in all things analytics engineering.
- Significant experience with developing and scheduling ETL flows, analyzing and handling DAG dependencies, and optimizing queries and partitions for speed and performance when serving insights to users.
- Values the importance of strong operations and maintenance practices of technical stack to ensure consistent system performance.
- Able to design and implement data flows that support Tableau or similar reporting tools.
- Experience working with or setting up large scale data warehouse
- Experience of working in a cloud environment (e.g. AWS).
- Great communication skills (written and visual reports, dashboards, and presentations).
- Experience in media or streaming is a bonus.
