About Omni
Omni is a new way to experience the news, and it’s already one of Sweden’s leading news destinations. It is both an editorial and a technological innovation: At Omni, editorial staff, engineers, sales, and readers work closely together to create the best news experience that we know how.
We’re happy to say that Omni has won some prestigious awards like Sweden's best news service (IDG/Top-100 in 2020), and Europe's best news app before that (Wanifra Digital Media Award), but our biggest reward remains that over a million people choose to get their news from Omni every month.
We run Omni as its own company within Schibsted, a family of many well-known businesses in Scandinavia such as Aftonbladet, Svenska Dagbladet and VG. Although we primarily organize around each company, altogether we are hundreds of engineers all working towards the same goals. That way, we can offer both the autonomy of a small startup and the community of a large company.
About the role
We have offices in Gdansk and Stockholm, but currently, we are working from wherever we work best. We think that’s the future for us, and that’s why we’re hiring this role from anywhere. We still want to come together a few times every year, though, so it’s important that you’re up for that!
You’ll be part of an experienced team of motivated, talented mobile and backend developers. As an Android Developer, you’ll be working on building and improving our wonderful Android app. You’ll have a chance to try and explore modern Android development solutions, like Jetpack Compose.
