Responsibilities
We are looking for software developers who have the curiosity and drive to join our Android teams. You will be working with Java, Kotlin and/or C++ on Android, but we believe that a good developer can learn and master any new field. We have humble and really skilled team members that are eager to share their knowledge and help you in any situation.

You may become a part of the Opera for Android team to develop new exciting features for our main browser, enriching the experience of around 80 million users or help build an exciting new messenger product for emerging markets.

Our organization is flat and we work in tight-knit and iterative processes between product managers, designers, developers and quality assurance engineers. We do code reviews as well as privacy and security reviews to bring the quality of our products to the next level. As a consumer-oriented company, the input from our end users is highly valued. We monitor their feedback closely and improve the product to fit their needs.

You can choose to start early or work late, as long as you are available to your colleagues during core hours, from 10 am - 3 pm. This means being available online while working remotely, and being at the office once we return.

Qualifications
We believe in skill, not certification. While a good understanding of computer science and the realities of practical software development are a must, titles and diplomas play no role at Opera.

This kind of agile workflow requires people with an autonomous working style, who take their own initiatives to improve systems and processes. A high quality product also requires people with a good sense of usability and attention to detail. However, we don’t expect a single team member to possess all of these skills. Instead, we’re looking for dedicated co-workers who are eager to contribute and grow both technically and personally.
