Application Development Manager, e-Mobility Power Solutions

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Electrification is transforming the Power Solutions market, just like the transport industry. Going forward, electrification products and services will be part of our offering alongside combustion engines. If you want to be part of a newly formed e-Mobility Solutions department as the technical expert of our customers applications and together with the team lead the change and build up the electrification business at Power Solutions this role is for you.

 

Assignment and overall responsibilities:
The primary purpose with this assignment is to pave the way for our Application Engineers as the electrification journey is ramping up. This position will be the technical interface between the e-Mobility Solutions team at Power Solutions and the market including Scania Business Units, OEM customers and end-customers as well as other players in the business. You will work to gain knowledge and transfer this to Scania to further improve our Power Solutions electrification offer. You will have a close cooperation with the R&D electrification team and work with the e-Mobility Solutions organisation for our Truck and Bus business to find synergies.

 

By having deep technical understanding of our customers’ needs and our offering you will take lead in getting new standards and tools in place to secure optimal performance of our products in customer applications. You will build up an expertise knowledge that will support the knowledge transfer long term to our Application Engineers at Scania CV and at our Business Units globally. This is of highest importance to be able to handle the ramp up in volumes.

 

You have the responsibility to understand, support, and improve different installations with the help of software integration of a hybrid or fully electric driveline including battery pack in different customer applications. Examples of job tasks:


• Understand and work with CAN communication and control strategy of the Power Solutions driveline together with the customer’s coordinator system.
• Recommend and explain to customers the difference in control strategies and options available and if needed improve the driveline behaviour in the customer application.
• Support troubleshooting, all areas related to the EMS (CAN, software, calibration).


Your profile:


• You enjoy working with people and can both work independently and in a team.
• You are structured, analytical and result-oriented and enjoy working in a high-paced environment handling many tasks at a time.
• You have an university degree in engineering and 3-5 years of experience from working with power sources or drivetrain. Knowledge of calibration of engine and/or electric control systems is considered a merit.
• You have experience of working in an international environment, preferable at Scania, and are accustomed to meet distributors and customers.
