Exide Technologies Nordic, is a division of Exide Technologies Europe that markets and distributes the company’s products and services in the Nordic region. Exide Nordic has a strong market position in each market and works with well-known brands such as Tudor, Exide, Sønnak and GNB.

Exide Technologies Nordic has a total of 180 employees and the Swedish and Nordic head office is located in Kungälv and the logistics center is located in Nol. In the autumn of 2016 the headquarters as well as the warehouse will move to the new warehouse and office buildings in Mölnlycke Business Park.

Roles and responsibilities

In the position as an Application Engineer within Exide Nordics you will take a key roll and liaise with the customer at all stages of the business process. From design and development to implementation of the custom solution, you will assure that all technical details are captured and communicated. Further you will work closely with Exide’s Advanced Batteries Team (ABT) technical office so that all applications are correctly specified and that all Bills of Material are correct.

You will ensure that the customer’s technical enquiries and issues are dealt with in a timely fashion and support the customer with on site installations and scheduled and unscheduled follow up visits.

In the role you will also assist the local sales teams and the Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) closely in understanding the customer’s application and how to optimize Exide’s energy storage solution to the mutual benefit of Exide and the customer.

You will work closely with ABT to refine the current product portfolio to better meet existing customer requirements and expectations.

Another task is to assist in gathering and analyzing technical data, via customer feedback, conferences, publications etc. to allow Exide to build a comprehensive competitive landscape study. You will also carry out country training of commercial and technical support staff as required.

The Application Engineer will report to the Application Engineering Manager in Europe and the position is situated in Gothenburg/Mölnlycke, Sweden.

The positon requires regular travel in the Nordic countries and Europe.

Position Requirements

The position requires that you have a degree within electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.

Have a good understanding of battery systems and battery storage solutions (ideally from 12 to 600 V DC). Experience with Lithium batteries and battery management would be a plus.

Knowledge of the following areas would be desirable, but not essential:

·         CANbus and CANbus integration.

·         Network /Telecom and UPS market.

·         Electric Motors and motor controllers desirable.

·         Industrial and automotive electric vehicle sectors.

·         Electrical test environments.

Personal Skills

As a person you are both analytical and solution driven with a clear customer focus. You have a great interest in technical solutions and have good pedagogic skill. Further you have an experience working in an international environment interacting with all stakeholders in a project. You also have a good business understanding and hands on technical knowledge with a strong communication skill. You will work in an international environment so it is important that you are fluent in English.
