Roles and responsibilities
In the position as an Application Engineer within the Lithium team you will take a key roll and liaise with the customer at all stages of the business process. From design and development to implementation of the custom solution,you will assure that all technical details are captured and communicated. Further you will work closely with Exide’s Advanced Batteries Team (ABT) technical office so that all applications are correctly specified and that all Bills of Material are correct.
You will ensure that the customer’s technical enquiries and issues are dealt with in a timely fashion and support the customer with on site installations and scheduled and unscheduled follow up visits.
In the role you will also assist the local sales teams and the Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) closely in understanding the customer’s application and how to optimize Exide’s energy storage solution to the mutual benefit of Exide and the customer.
You will work closely with ABT to refine the current product portfolio to better meet existing customer requirements and expectations.
Another task is to assist in gathering and analyzing technical data, via customer feedback, conferences, publications etc. to allow Exide to build a comprehensive competitive landscape study. You will also carry out country training of commercial and technical support staff as required.
The positon requires regular travel in the Nordic countries and Europe.
The position will report to the Application Engineering Manager in Europe and the position is situated in Gothenburg/Mölnlycke, Sweden.
Position Requirements
The position requires that you, at the minimum, have a degree within electrical or mechanical engineering or similar.
Have a good understanding for of Battery Management Systems preferably in Lithium. You should preferably have experience with low to high voltage battery systems 12 to 600 V DC.
It´s a plus if you have:
• Knowledge of CANbus and CANbus integration.
• Knowledge of Electric Motors and drives is desirable.
• Experience in the industrial and automotive electric vehicle sectors.
• Experience in the Network / UPS market, including Telecoms.
• Experience of an electrical test environment.
Personal Skills
As a person you are analytical and solution driven with a clear customer focus. You have a great interest in technical solutions and have good pedagogic skill. Further you have an experience working in an international environment interacting with all stakeholders in a project. You also have a good business understanding with strong communication skill. You will work in an international environment so it is important that you are fluent in English.
